ABOUT US

Bonjour! Jo-Gi Gallery . . . welcomes you to Part of Paris & Provence through its unique and diverse collection of contemporary French fine art.   From 2000 to 2006 the Jo-Gi Collection was offered to the public through the Jo-Gi Gallery located in Chicago’s historical Gold Coast and Old Town neighborhoods.   Over the years Chicagoans as well as visitors from around the world have sought out this remarkable collection and delighted in personally meeting collector and gallery owner Jo-Gi (Joanne Giunta) whose enthusiasm for fine art is contagious!  Such enthusiasm can be traced back to her childhood as her favorite elementary school class was drawing and her college studies in fine arts prepared her to teach literature, creative writing, speech/drama and art.  Her enchantment with art history studies and her own dabbling in painting and sculpture influenced her appreciation and collection of fine art for more than thirty-five years. A visit to the Jo-Gi Gallery is not only educational but entertaining, as Jo-Gi presents her collection with amusing and colorful stories about the artists and their works.  From the moment you enter the gallery you will feel as though you have been transported to Parisian “ateliers” and charming French countryside where great art has forever been created!

In 2007, Jo-Gi relocated from Chicago to Naples, Florida where she continues to delight her guests with original paintings, sculpture, and lithographs by emerging and established contemporary artists living and working in France such as Bosc, Boulet, Carah, Deberdt, Douady, Dubord,  Duplaix, Lagrue, Laroche, Lohe, Mouly, Riviere, Rody, Valadez and Yoldjoglou.  The artists have achieved international recognition and applaud from such as the European Parliament, French author Francoise Sagan,  Art Critic Patrice de la Perriere and Editor of Univers Des Arts, as well as hold prominent places in the private collections and foundations of Pierre Cardin, Giovanni Agnelli and Cino del Duca. The collection offers a diversity of style from “naïf” to expressionism to impressionism to realism to abstract.   Jo-Gi comments: “Selection of art is like a romance . . . it embraces one’s heart and when it’s right one knows it and feels it!”

Jo-Gi’s philosophy is that art is for everyone and no one should be intimidated to walk into a gallery!  She is committed to making sure that her collection offers works not only for the” seasoned collector” but also for the” first time buyer”  just beginning a collection.  At Jo-Gi Gallery you will find works of fine art to meet everyone’s budget be it an exhibition poster, lithograph, painting, or sculpture.

Jo-Gi’s specialty and “niche” is contemporary French art.  However, her keen sense of local community involvement motivates her to annually provide an opportunity for emerging local area artists, who have never exhibited in a fine art gallery, to submit portfolios for consideration.  Currently, Jose Rodriguez, sculptor, from Naples, Florida is selected with his stone and metal works prominently displayed in the Jo-Gi Gallery.

Be advised that this fine art gallery does not offer giclee or other types of reproductions. We only showcase original lithographs, paintings, and sculptures that are accompanied  by a Certificate of Authenticity from Jo-Gi Gallery.

Welcome friends of fine art to the Jo-Gi Collection!   See you soon . . . a bientot!

ENJOY . . .
